Attorney Erin Smith
Erin J. Smith was raised on the Northern Neck of Virginia. She attended Christopher Newport University in Newport News, VA. She graduated with honors and her Bachelor’s Degree in English and a minor in Communication Studies.
She spent the next two years working as a high school English teacher before applying to and being accepted into Catholic University of America, Columbus School of Law in Washington, DC. While attending school, she worked at the Alexandria Office of the Public Defender, defending indigent clients charged with traffic offenses, misdemeanors, and felonies.
Ms. Smith then opened her private practice where she currently defends individuals throughout Northern Virginia charged with both misdemeanors and felonies. She also represents clients seeking expungements and restoration of their firearms rights.
Ms. Smith has a strong commitment to providing legal service to those who need legal representation, but cannot afford to pay for the services of an attorney. She previously volunteered with the Fairfax County Bar Association’s Wills on Wheels Clinic. In that position, she, with other attorneys, visited sites throughout the community to draft end-of-life and planning documents, including wills, health care directives, and powers of attorney. She also voluntarily serves as a court-appointed attorney for individuals charged with criminal offenses who cannot afford an attorney.
Ms. Smith is also a certified Guardian ad Litem and she represents juveniles in delinquency, custody and abuse/neglect cases.
In her spare time, Ms. Smith enjoys spending time with her son and two dogs, as while as competing in regular 10k runs, half marathons, full marathons, and triathlons.
Of-Counsel Attorney Lili R. O'Connell
Lili O’Connell is a talented litigator with extensive experience in criminal, domestic, and civil litigation. While Ms. O’Connell enjoys the courtroom, she has also gained a reputation as an attentive listener and counselor for her clients outside of court. She has handled cases in many Virginia jurisdictions, including the General District, Circuit and Juvenile/Domestic Relations Courts of Fairfax, Alexandria, Arlington, Falls Church, Herndon, Vienna, Prince William, Stafford, Madison and Loudoun. In addition to her extensive criminal experience, Ms. O’Connell is a qualified Guardian ad Litem and represents children in custody and juvenile delinquency cases.
Ms. O’Connell is originally from New England and completed both her Law Degree and Bachelors degree at the University of Connecticut.
Ms. O’Connell is a member of the Virginia State Bar, the Fairfax Bar Association and the Prince William Bar Association. In her spare time, she enjoys horseback riding and spending time with her husband, two children and her dog.
